Making Change You Can See and Feel
Community Preservation
At BuCu West, community preservation means more than protecting what’s here, it means investing in what’s possible. We work hand-in-hand with residents, small businesses, artists, and partners to build a Westwood where culture, identity, and opportunity thrive together.
Through public art, small business support, infrastructure improvements, and permanent cultural spaces, we turn community voice into visible progress. These investments aren’t temporary fixes, they’re lasting commitments to the people and places that make Westwood home.
Because when a community is given the tools to shape its own future, it doesn’t just survive, it flourishes.

Westwood Creative District: Where Culture and Community Intersect
As part of our commitment to preserving and celebrating Westwood’s rich cultural identity, BuCu West helped lead the charge in establishing the Westwood Creative District — officially recognized as a Colorado Creative District in 2017.
This designation honors Westwood as a dynamic hub for art, culture, and creativity — and ensures ongoing support for the local artists, makers, and performers who make the neighborhood so vibrant.
The Westwood Creative District is more than a title — it’s a movement. Built with deep community input, the district was created to be:
Immersive – inviting residents and visitors to experience Westwood’s cultural diversity
Authentic – highlighting the neighborhood’s cultural roots
Inclusive – welcoming creatives of all backgrounds and identities
A Platform for Local Artists and Culture-Seekers
For artists and art enthusiasts alike, the Westwood Creative District offers a space for connection, expression, and opportunity. From vibrant murals and public art to live performances and neighborhood festivals, it celebrates the diverse cultures that define Westwood — and keeps them alive in public view.
In a city where cultural displacement is all too common, the Westwood Creative District is a powerful example of community preservation in action — a place where heritage is protected, creativity is cultivated, and economic opportunity is rooted in culture.

Façade Program: Making Change You Can See and Feel
At BuCu West, we put plans into action — on the ground, block by block. Our Façade Improvement Program is a key part of this work, helping small businesses along the Morrison Road corridor transform their storefronts and
take pride in the spaces they call home.
From new signage and murals to lighting and exterior repairs, these upgrades do more than improve appearances — they boost visibility, increase foot traffic, and strengthen neighborhood identity.
As part of our broader commitment to community-driven development, façade improvements are one of many tangible investments — alongside public art, plazas, and gathering spaces — that turn neighborhood pride and community voice into visible progress.
